Why Generative AI? Discovering the Motivation Behind My Journey
In January 2023, I embarked on my first encounter with ChatGPT, and it immediately became evident that this AI system was unlike anything I had experienced over two decades ago with rule-based AI. Intrigued by the possibilities, I delved into the realm of generative AI, researching its potential for training large language models (LLMs) tailored to specific countries and domains.
One fascinating avenue I explored was fine-tuning an open-source LLM model like Stable Diffusion from Hugging Face, specifically for corporate banking. This exploration revealed the exciting prospect of using natural languages such as English or Malay as interfaces for enterprise systems. The impact of training LLMs was clear: it offered the potential for end-to-end automation of mundane office tasks, freeing up valuable time that could be redirected towards more complex, face-to-face responsibilities such as high-level solutioning and client relationship management. Embracing extensive LLM usage is the strategic approach needed to maintain competitiveness, especially in super-ageing societies.
But why am I personally motivated by generative AI? Let me take you back to a time when I was a Java technical architect with over 15 years of professional experience. Throughout my career, I’ve been immersed in the world of IT and have honed my skills in dialogue. These experiences have instilled in me the confidence to play a crucial role in leveraging LLMs to support chat-based interfaces for enterprise systems.
Join me on this exciting journey as we explore the vast possibilities of generative AI and its transformative impact on various domains. Together, we can unlock new frontiers and reshape how we interact with technology.
